Balwin Sport is the new sponsor of the historic Pick n Pay Marathon, now known as the Balwin Sport Jeppe Marathon, on 11 February 2024. The marathon forms part of an interprovincial series of four races.

This much-loved event is popular with runners qualifying for the Comrades and Two Oceans with a challenging two-lap route around Bedfordview and Edenvale.

The Reid lifestyle estate in Sandton offers residents scenic walking and running trails, perfect for marathon training. The 6-star green-rated Lifestyle Centre also features cutting-edge facilities to balance strength and endurance training and rest days in between.![6ebb1cdc-c036-475c-9262-ef805ee75749](https://news.balwin.co.za/hs-fs/hubfs/6ebb1cdc-c036-475c-9262-ef805ee75749.jpg?width=524&height=314&name=6ebb1cdc-c036-475c-9262-ef805ee75749.jpg)

**Cardio and Endurance Training**

You can go the distance at The Reid with nature on your doorstep. A green belt and 2.5km running route provide exercise in the fresh air and a feeling of safety whenever you train.

Do cardio time on the Padel or squash court, then head to the swimming pool for a few laps and a cool down.![9a6904bb-c4a2-4a26-b547-a6b915889bc3](https://news.balwin.co.za/hs-fs/hubfs/9a6904bb-c4a2-4a26-b547-a6b915889bc3.jpg?width=524&height=314&name=9a6904bb-c4a2-4a26-b547-a6b915889bc3.jpg)

**Strength Training**

The Reid’s on-site Training Science Gym is Discovery Vitality-approved and offers trainers to help you achieve your best. Strengthen those muscles with different forms of resistance training using free weights and weight machines.![449a174f-2dad-4fa8-b958-637152693f37](https://news.balwin.co.za/hs-fs/hubfs/449a174f-2dad-4fa8-b958-637152693f37.jpg?width=524&height=314&name=449a174f-2dad-4fa8-b958-637152693f37.jpg)

**Recovery and Rest Days**

For the days when you need to carb load, Amici Restaurant and Pizzeria is the perfect post-workout lunch spot. Rest weary legs in the swimming pool, or check in at The Reid’s wellness spa for relaxing muscle relief.
