Across countries and cultures, the kitchen is the heart of every home. Whether you’re a meal prep genius or decisively working on your culinary skills in 2023, having a kitchen space with ample storage, room for movement, and all the equipment you need to make delicious meals, is a must.

So, what sets cooking in a Balwin Properties kitchen apart? Well, for starters, our sustainably designed apartments include free eco-friendly appliances; taking a few things off the moving-in checklist, and saving you money.

**Well Equipped**

The Polofields, one of our Signature Developments located in the sought-after Waterfall suburb in Johannesburg, hosts luxuriously modern apartments that boast state-of-the-art SMEG appliances. These include a sleek hob and oven, kettle and toaster and refrigerator.

**Beautiful and Spacious**

At The Polofields, the kitchen design is simple yet refined and tasteful. Not only will you have everything you need to make your kitchen a foodie’s wonderland, but the beautiful modern and practical finishes in these luxury Scandinavian-style kitchens also make them a joy to spend time in. Countertops offer ample workspace blended with storage space for groceries and other kitchen essentials.

**Clean Up Is Easy**

Cleaning up after cooking and enjoying a favourite meal is a breeze. The Polofields kitchens are light and spacious, have a beautiful sink area with stylish matte black tapware, and state-of-the-art SMEG dishwasher, to help get the job done.

Once you’ve moved in and are settled, try this easy pancake recipe in your new luxury kitchen.

**EASY SUNDAY MORNING PANCAKE RECIPE**

**Ingredients**

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter or vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Toppings of choice – Butter, maple syrup/honey, icing sugar, jam or preserve, whipped cream, berries, etc.

**Method**

**Step 1**

Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a small bowl.

**Step 2**

In a second medium bowl, whisk together milk, butter or oil, and egg. Add dry ingredients to your wet mixture and mix well. Try not to overmix.

**Step 3**

Heat a large non-stick pan on medium and add 1 teaspoon of oil to your pan.

**Step 4**

Spoon 2 to 3 tablespoons of pancake batter into your heated non-stick pan for each pancake. You should be able to fit about 3 pancakes in a large pan.

**Step 5**

Cook until the surface of your pancakes bubble, which usually takes 1 to 2 minutes, and proceed to flip the pancakes with a spatula. Cook the other side for another 1 to 2 minutes. Once cooked, place your pancakes onto a platter or serving plates. You can cover cooked pancakes with foil to keep them warm. Once all your pancakes are cooked you can serve them warm with the delicious toppings of your choice!
