Our vision at the Balwin Foundation NPC is to support and develop youth to reach their full potential, to become contributing citizens to the South African Economy whilst encouraging and motivating other youth to grow and be the best that they can be.

One person on the international stage is Puseletso Mabote, one of the disabled scholars from the  Jumping Kids organisation, whom the Balwin Foundation supports by contributing to his school fees at King Edward School. This young man finished 7th in the Paralympic finals. Puseletso is a brilliant example of what a determined young person can achieve despite the challenges they face.

Apart from the bursary programme Balwin foundation also runs youth development programmes in partnership with local community NGO's, in order to develop a resilient generation able to challenge the alarming youth unemployment rate sitting at 64.4% in Q2 2021.

Youth Programmes:

Social Entrepreneurship

Our Social Entrepreneurship Programme with Get Informed Youth Development Centre in Tembisa sees 100 Grade 20 learners from schools in the Midrand area participate in the programme which addresses the critical link between personal development and entrepreneurship skills in order to promote sustainable youth and economic development.

Essential Skills

In Tshwane, we join forces with The Get Set Trust to enable, educate and equip 100 Grade 10 learners in their quest to become highly qualified and employable members of society. This is achieved through training and development of essential skills, provision of continuous support as well as exposure and access to opportunities.

Positive Life Skills

National Youth Development Outreach's Rise & Shine Adolescent Life Skills Programme is a psycho-social intervention where we assist 40 high risk youth from Mamelodi, Eersterust and Bronkhorstspruit to develop resiliency skills and positive behavior patterns.

Girl Power

In Soweto we support the Girl Happy programme run through the Mabuya Schooling Foundation, which empowers 30 young girls between 12 and 19, teaching them to understand the value of education and the importance of being financially independent.

Stories of change:

Back in 2018, Mumsy was one of the attendees at our very first Construction course in KZN.  Since then Cindy (KZN Manager) has remained in touch with Mumsy, comforting her when her husband passed away last year. This year, inspired by the work of the Balwin Foundation, Mumsy registered her own NPO. She is making a big impact, helping the hungry and less fortunate in her community.

Thank you to every person who has, and continues to support The Balwin Foundation NPC.

Without you, we can't do any of the life changing work we do!
